Native Woods Preservation Ltd is a company registered in Scotland, Reg. no. SC372643, created for the purpose of preserving Scottish rural woodland properties.
To further this objective the organisation purchased Loch Wood on the Blackwood Estate in 2010. Loch Wood contains ancient native woodland and was at the time under threat of commercial development, such as commercial timber felling and housing developments. Now the woodland may be protected for the preservation and enjoyment of future generations. Loch Wood used to be – and still is – a laird’s amenity woodland with a very varied range of species, and the property’s noble history and close links to Scottish aristocracy add to its attractions.
